Responsibilities

Shared Rides are a way to share costs among multiple passengers, leading to lower prices, fewer vehicle miles travelled and providing Uber with a low-cost product that is incremental. The Science team supports the Shared Rides product - through analysis, experimentation and model building. This is instrumental in designing the product (eg. what are the right tradeoffs), deciding on product strategy (eg. what is a sustainable discount), delivering the product (eg. building models for production) and analyzing impact (eg. through experiments). We are also responsible for providing the business with the state of truth through verified tables, metrics and dashboards.
