We operate in 3 key categories: Animal sports medication and doping control, Human drug testing, and Supplement testing and product certification. Job Description We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, proactive Scientist to join our Animal Sports team! Working within a collaborative, project-based environment, you will contribute to the development, validation and application of analytical methods to support anti-doping and medication control in animal sports. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting the design, development, validation, and execution of analytical methods using chromatography and mass spectrometry techniques (primarily LC-MS and GC-MS) Interpreting scientific data and delivering clear, high-quality reports and presentations Managing your work effectively to deliver projects on time and in line with client requirements, regulatory standards, and quality systems Carrying out a range of analyses and investigations to support method development and continuous improvement Working collaboratively with colleagues to share ideas, solve problems, and contribute to team objectives Contributing to improvements in efficiency, quality, and overall laboratory performance We are looking for someone who is adaptable, organised, and works well both independently and as part of a team. You will bring a positive approach to your work, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage priorities to deliver high-quality outcomes. Qualifications BSc (or equivalent) in an appropriate subject Sound scientific knowledge with some practical experience of chromatography and mass spectrometry particularly LC-MS techniques (GC-MS would be an additional bonus) Operationally aware and able to contribute to improvements in output and efficiency Team worker, able to work flexibly and with initiative to bring forward ideas Knowledge of doping control practices in relation to animal sports Experience of method development Knowledge of quality systems (ISO 17025) is desirable Knowledge of immunoassay techniques is desirable Additional Information ABOUT LGC: LGC is a leading, global life science tools company, providing mission-critical components and solutions into high-growth application areas across the human healthcare and applied market segments.
