ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Synthetic Biology, Bioengineering, or a related field.
  • Equivalent industry or academic research experience in molecular cloning and protein work.
  • Hands-on experience with core cloning techniques: Golden Gate assembly, Gibson assembly, PCR, qPCR, and oligos PCA.
  • Familiarity with ELISA and Western blot assays.
  • Proficiency with laboratory informatics tools such as SnapGene, Benchling, and Pymol.
  • Strong coding background in Python and R, with working knowledge of bioinformatics tools.
  • Experience with sequencing methods, including Sanger sequencing, NGS platforms, and Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in protein engineering, including mutagenesis, directed evolution, or rational design.
  • Hands-on work with cell-free expression systems.
  • Background in computational protein design and data-driven molecular biology.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to integrate wet lab and computational approaches.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly motivated Molecular Biologist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in molecular cloning and assay development, with additional skills in computational analysis and bioinformatics. You will play a central role in developing, testing, and scaling synthetic biology tools to advance our pipeline for mammalian synthetic biology and therapeutic innovation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and execute multiplex molecular cloning experiments using Golden Gate, Gibson assembly, PCR, and related techniques.
  • Perform and optimize assays, including qPCR, ELISA, and Western blot.
  • Apply protein engineering strategies to design and characterize novel constructs.
  • Work with cell-free expression systems for rapid prototyping of proteins and enzymes.
  • Use molecular biology and data management platforms such as SnapGene and Benchling.
  • Leverage computational tools (Python, R, and bioinformatics pipelines) for data analysis, sequence optimization, and experimental design.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (molecular biologists, computational scientists, and engineers) to deliver on project milestones.
  • Document experiments, analyze results, and present findings to the team.
