POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Scientist, you will lead projects focused on the development, characterization, and validation of nanobodies (single-domain antibodies/VHHs) for use in research and development. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on both hands-on laboratory work and scientific leadership, with a focus on translating advanced antibody technologies into scalable, high-impact products.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Masters or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related life sciences field (required).
  • Proven track record (publications, patents, or products) in nanobody (VHH/sdAb) development.
  • Hands-on experience with antibody engineering, molecular cloning, protein expression, and purification.
  • Proficiency in relevant techniques such as ELISA, SPR, SDS-PAGE, SEC, and immunoassays.
  • Strong data analysis skills and the ability to interpret complex experimental results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for solving hard problems, working independently, and collaborating in a team environment.
Filtrous is an equal opportunity employer. We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

Responsibilities

Nanobody Development

  • Design and execute experimental workflows for the discovery, expression, and screening of nanobodies.
  • Develop and optimize nanobodies selection strategies (e.g., phage display, yeast display).
  • Characterize binding affinity, specificity, and stability using techniques such as ELISA, SPR, BLI, and flow cytometry.

Project Management & Collaboration

  • Lead R&D projects from concept to prototype, collaborating closely with team members in manufacturing, QC, and regulatory.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on nanobodies in cross-functional discussions and product planning.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain detailed, reproducible records of research activities and results.
  • Prepare scientific reports, product documentation, and data presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Technology Translation

  • Assist in integrating nanobodies into Filtrous’ product pipeline, including conjugation and assay development.
  • Evaluate new technologies, vendors, and reagents to enhance platform capabilities.
