JOB DESCRIPTION:

USSTRATCOM is a Combatant Command responsible for strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, and enterprise IT services essential to national security. It oversees Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (JEMSO), Global Strike, and Missile Threat Assessments, working closely with other Combatant Commands, Services, and defense agencies. SCITLS will be a key component that will ensure mission success and the safety of the U.S. and its allies by providing 24/7 IT services and network support for NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, and SAP/SAR environments.

Quantum Consultation and Research/Quantum Lead:

  • Assess and leverage quantum computing technologies to enable integrating advanced encryption technologies to the larger mission of delivering real-time and near-real-time global military deterrence operations, including critical nuclear command and control systems.
  • Investigate the use of quantum computing and Quantum Resistant Algorithms (QRA) to mitigate asymmetric risks.
  • Provide an analysis of how sophisticated cyber attackers may utilize quantum computing to compromise USSTRATCOM systems.
  • Integrate quantum computing and QRA.
  • Deter sophisticated attackers using quantum computing.
  • Make recommendations based on current quantum computing capabilities that bolster the capabilities of USSTRATCOM and its mission partners.
