SKILLS

• Excellent communication skills are essential as you’ll be talking to clients from all over the world from different backgrounds and cultures
• Passion for Scotland and a Willingness to learn - if you’re willing to learn and have a good cheerful outlook, then we believe that any knowledge can be gained
• Good, safe, and considerate Driving Skills
• Critical thinking skills and initiative to ensure a wonderful experience for visitors

REQUIREMENTS

• A current and valid, full, UK Driving license.
• Must have held your driving licence for a minimum of 3 Years
• Able to start in Edinburgh or Glasgow (Depending on the position you apply for)
• Willingness to spend nights away
• High standard of customer service and care
• A level of fitness that will allow you to walk for up to 2 hours per day on a variety of terrain

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AS A TOUR GUIDE

A good portion of the day will include driving in Scotland’s Highlands and Lowlands, exploring and visiting desirable locations with visitors.
You will get the chance to go on short hikes for between 30 minutes to 1 hours per day throughout the duration of our Group Day Tours, though there is the possibility to guide on our one day West Highland Way, hiking, Day Tour of approx 4-5 hours and on private tours.
There is also the opportunity to work in other areas of the business.

DAILY TOUR GUIDE JOB ROLE

• Share Scotland with passion and enthusiasm with Visitors
• Complete daily vehicle safety checks to ensure a safe and comfortable tour
• Provide constructive feedback to continuously improve the quality of the tours
• Continually develop your skills as a tour guide by learning a wide range of location, natural, cultural, historical and social knowledge
• Be a first point of contact for Experience Scotland’s Wild and represent the company in a professional and positive way
• Safely drive our Vehicles ensuring clients get a comfortable and enjoyable experience as you tour
• Take clients for short walks in Scotland
• Potentially stay overnight in locations around Scotland on multi-day tours
• During the off season, there is the likelihood to help with other roles in line with business needs
