Sovel is looking for a Scrap Yard Mining Engineer to join the team in Almyros-Magnesia Sidenor, is looking for a Scrap Yard Mining Engineer for its SOVEL Steel Plant in Almyros-Magnesia. With 60 years of industry know-how and expertise, Sidenor is the largest steel industry in Greece and constitutes the steel production and trading segment of Viohalco. Sidenor Group is a leading steel producer in Southeastern Europe with 4 production units in Greece, Bulgaria, Northern Macedonia. As a Scrap Yard Mining Engineer, you will report to the Scrap Yard & Logistics Senior Manager, and you will be responsible for the scrapyard plan and operations as well as to ensure the efficient and effective allocation of manpower. Your Role Follow Health & Safety and Environmental regulations in accordance with the company’s policies and standards. Plan daily/weekly manpower needs based upon business demands and closely monitors overtime. Assign tasks ensuring efficient allocation of labor maximizing productivity Motivate trains and develop a productive cohesive team Maintain the upkeep and maintenance of capital investments (i.e. building property, equipment, etc.); Maintain an organized and logical yard operation Manage cost and time constraints Perform risk assessments Provide process documentation and standard operating procedures Your Profile Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mining and Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical or Material Engineering or related discipline required 2- 3 years’ experience, preferably in similar positions Knowledge of process related standards and process engineering software packages Basic knowledge of cost accounting principles and the ability to read and understand income statements Knowledge and working experience of advanced operations excellence methodologies, tools (Lean 6sigma, TPM) and process simulations will be a plus Health & Safety Culture Excellent command of English language People Management and organizational skills Analytical thinking with interpersonal skills Problem solving skills #LI-LV1 #SOVEL Role Description
