Whissell is currently looking for a Scraper Operator to join our Calgary team! The successful candidate will display high attention to detail as they assist the Team with tasks around the site.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 or more years of running a Scraper
  • Underground Utility and Earthworks construction experience are required.
  • High attention to detail is required.
  • Pay to be determined by skill and experience.
  • Ensure compliance with all Company policies, OH & S Legislation, and WCB reporting procedures.
  • Understand and maintain quality and production standards and work to achieve established production goals.
  • Must have your own transportation.
  • Must have own steel-toes safety boots.
  • Seasonal, full-time, and weekends

Responsibilities
  • Operates in crowded, fast-paced working environments, and exercises extreme caution with awareness of potential situational hazards to ensure site safety.
  • Performs effective and safe operation of equipment.
  • Recognizes existing and potential hazards and knows how to identify these through conducting a field-level pre-job hazard analysis, checking the machine for hazards, and assessing any tasks before starting.
  • Remove different types of dirt.
  • Cutting to grade and filling to grade as instructed by the site foreman.
