Primary objective
Deliver a program of activities and services to enable the development and growth of a Northern Territory (NT) Screen
Industry that is professional, viable and sustainable, producing sought-after quality content.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Develop effective relationships with stakeholders including NT screen practitioners, broadcasters, streamers, other
screen agencies, distributors and production companies that may be potential partners in NT screen projects.
2. Develop collaborative relationships and arrangements across the NT public and private sectors that will deliver strategic
and coordinated approaches to growing the NT screen industry.
3. Manage screen industry development initiatives and grant programs, with a focus on maximising opportunities for local
screen practitioners and increasing the scale and long-term sustainability of the NT screen sector.
4. Actively build relationships with NT screen practitioners to maintain awareness of NT screen projects and connect
practitioners with Screen Territory funding programs and industry development initiatives including upskilling programs.
5. Provide high level written advice, correspondence, data and policy briefings to support Screen Territory’s work.
6. Provide financial and budget management support to the Director Screen Territory
7. Maintain current knowledge of industry developments, trends, technologies and initiatives being developed by other
state, national or international screen agencies or organisations.
8. Represent Screen Territory at local and national events, meetings and forums.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Knowledge and understanding of the screen sector including industry trends.
2. Experience in industry development, training and upskilling, investment attraction/facilitation or change management
as it relates to the Australian screen industry.
3. The ability to operate effectively, professionally, flexibly and with a principled approach within the public sector.
4. Capability in cultivating productive, cooperative working relationships with government and industry stakeholders.
5. High-level project management skills and the ability to commit to action, balance competing priorities and deliver
intended results on time.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise collaboratively and sensitively with both emerging
and experienced screen professionals.
7. The ability to travel, to work at times independently and in a team environment, interact effectively with people from
diverse cultures, and ensure work health and safety system compliance.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
