POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job title: Screen Printer

Salary: AUD $75,000 to 80,000 (Excluding Superannuation 11%)
Hours: Full time – 38 Hrs per week
Location: 46 Bolder Rd, Malaga 6090

QUALIFICATIONS:

AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV with 1 years full time relevant work experience. At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above. In some instances, relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.

SKILLS :

  • Experience with different substrates (e.g., fabric, paper, glass, plastic).
  • Understanding of graphic design principles for screen printing.
  • Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting equipment and print issues.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement in screen printing techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare stencils using both computer-aided design and hand-cut methods.
  • Select, mix, and match colored inks to achieve desired hues and consistencies.
  • Load and unload screen printing presses, ensuring proper alignment and registration.
  • Operate and maintain various types of screen-printing presses, including both power-driven
  • and hand-operated equipment.
  • Monitor print quality throughout the production run, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Load printed items into drying racks and manage the drying process.
  • Unload and stack dry items, preparing them for the next stage of production or packaging.
  • Clean and reclaim screens after use.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on screen printing equipment.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy.
