Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Screening Technician will work with the Screening team to screen participants enrolled in clinical studies. Responsibilities of the Screening Technician include intake/collection of tasks performed and assessment of overall participant eligibility regarding tasks performed in compliance with study protocol, Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

WHAT YOU’LL DO HERE

  • Assessment of participant eligibility based on criteria collected in regards to study protocol, SOP and GCP.
  • Maintain and advocate a high level of customer service and quality within the department.
  • Proactively communicate issues and/or problem resolutions to departmental supervisors and managers.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of clinical trial participants and sponsors is respected.
  • Preparation of screening materials
  • Participant identity verification
  • Intake and documentation of inclusionary/exclusionary criteria
  • Administration of medical questionnaires
  • Obtain and record demographic information including but not limited to: height, weight, BMI calculation, ethnicity
  • Collection of safety measurements including but not limited to: vital signs and ECG measurements
  • Collection and handling of urine for in-house testing and/or clinical diagnostic testing
  • Perform in-house tests such as: drugs of abuse, pregnancy, urine alcohol or breathalyzer
  • Preparation of diagnostic samples for shipping to clinical diagnostic laboratory, where applicable
  • Use of clinical diagnostic software
  • May assist in screening admission procedures.
