DESCRIPTION:

The Scrum Lead / Project Manager will be an integral part of the Content Production and Distribution Global Program Management team. DEEP&T creates products, platforms, and innovations for The Company by driving the strategic development and use of technology, building scalable systems and products to empower our businesses and engage consumers. With global scale, local presence, and deep technological excellence, DEEP&T helps The Company optimize technology, platforms, and resources, while bringing creative ideas to life and creating industry-shaping approaches.
This is a contractor position within the DEEP&T Global Program Management Organization. The Scrum Lead / Project Manager will work with Product and various Engineering teams to facilitate and support Agile ceremonies and coach scrum teams on Agile best practices and principles to enable the delivery of high value product increments to our users.
Successful candidates must be highly proactive, detail-oriented, and able to autonomously work on concurrent implementations across matrixed teams both inside and outside the DEEP&T department. They must be capable of clearly communicating schedules, risks, issues, and processes to a variety of business, creative, and technical audiences. They must be able to partner with other project managers and technical leads outside their area to coordinate work, deliverables, and schedules.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in technical program management and software application development.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Scrum Lead for cross-functional agile teams.
  • Experience as a Technical Project Manager a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Jira/Confluence supporting agile methodologies.
  • Experience with the software development life cycle.
  • Desire to learn and take on additional responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Anticipate working with teams on East or West Coast hours, with flexibility to work outside of regular office hours to accommodate important meetings in different time zones.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical knowledge of user interface, metadata management and software development practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of tools including Atlassian Suite (JIRA/Confluence).
  • Established experience with digital content supply chain systems that support content operation functions (e.g., title and content metadata, inventory/asset management and storage, digital content distribution and packaging, asset comparison based on technical specifications such as frame rate* file formats and conformance standards).
  • Prior knowledge and experience managing Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence projects, data scientists and ML engineers in the media and entertainment industry.

Degree - BS STEM+ 7 yrs
Unrelated BS/BA+ 11yrs
NO degree= 17 yrs experience

Responsibilities
  • Lead agile ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups, sprint plannings, backlog refinements, retrospectives, and demos.
  • Provide support using a servant-leadership style, facilitate discussions and decision making in meetings, and resolve team impediments at multiple levels of an organization.
  • Coach teams in their journey to Agile, support their self-organization and agile methodology knowledge growth.
  • Use tools and techniques to support the team in shipping high quality software increments such as User Stories, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Automated Testing and Burndown charts.
  • Maintain metrics that provide visibility to stakeholders on program progress and quality and know how to leverage those metrics to identify program needs.
  • Communicate delivery times and scope to other software engineering teams that depend on a timely delivery.
  • Manage projects that impact the scrum team, including developing project plans and timelines for projects and project deliverables.
  • Holds functional managers accountable for their teams’ deliverables.
  • Identifies and manages issues and risks and drives decision making.
  • Communicates team and project status and schedule updates.
