What you’ll do:
Facilitating Scrum Events
As a Scrum Master you will be responsible for organizing and leading Scrum ceremonies like sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives.
Removing Impediments
Identify and remove obstacles that hinder the team’s progress, whether they are technical, organizational, or interpersonal.
Coaching and Mentoring
Coach the team on Scrum principles and practices, helping them become a high-performing, self-organizing team.
Promoting Collaboration
Foster communication and collaboration within the team and with stakeholders, ensuring everyone is aligned and working effectively.
Ensuring Adherence to Scrum and Aviva Change Framework
Help the team understand and follow Scrum rules and values, in conjunction with Aviva Change Governance framework, ensuring delivery follows the established best practices.
Managing Expectations
Manage expectations around timelines and deliverables, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Resolving Conflicts
Help resolve conflicts within the team and between the team and other stakeholders.
At Aviva, we take pride in our delivery and the scrum master will play a pivotal role in the success of the delivery with laser focus on the following specific requirements of the role:
1. Enforce discipline of Scrum / Agile
2. Sprint Planning - (includes estimation of user stories + framework of user story split – BA/Dev/QA)
3. Sprint Reporting - (review burndown, spillover, sprint deliverables tied to Integrated Plan)
4. Sprint Retrospective -(what went well/can be improved)
5. Capacity Planning and Velocity Management - (resource allocation)
6. Ensure Hygiene of User Stories & Acceptance criteria
7. Backlog grooming and prioritization - (in collaboration with PO)
8. Risk Management – (timely escalation of risks and escalation for attention)
9. Dependencies Management (link dependencies at user story level across JIRA & SharePoint)
10. Facilitating Scrum- (efficient, time bound, focused) Resolving Blockers - (24-hour resolution)
