INTERMEDIATE SCRUM MASTER – JOIN THE INNOVATIVE TEAM AT PREFERRED RISK INSURANCE SERVICES

Location: Bedford Park, IL (On-site 3 days a week w/hybrid schedule flexibility)
Preferred Risk Insurance Services Overview: At Preferred Risk Insurance Services, we are dedicated to innovation and excellence in the insurance industry. We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Intermediate Scrum Master with additional project management experience to join our Team. The Scrum Master will play a crucial role in guiding and coaching our teams through the Scrum process and managing projects, ensuring effective collaboration, continuous improvement in our project management practices, and successful project delivery.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Scrum Master role for a software development team
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification, possessing deep knowledge of traditional project management methodologies.
  • Strong proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and other Agile tools
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles, Scrum frameworks, and the software development lifecycle, coupled with practical knowledge of project management processes and principles.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, coaching, and team management skills.
  • Proven ability to resolve conflicts, drive issues to resolution, and deliver successfully.
  • Demonstrated experience in building strong working relationships, fostering a collaborative team environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or a related field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Insurance industry experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives) effectively.
  • Lead project planning, scheduling, controlling, and reporting activities ensuring that comprehensive project, risk, and change management strategies are implemented.
  • Collaborate with product owners and development teams to ensure that backlogs are healthy and priorities are clearly understood.
  • Act as a servant leader to the Scrum team, removing impediments, and fostering an environment conducive to team success.
  • Manage project resources, budget, and timelines, ensuring that projects are delivered within scope and on time.
  • Work in close partnership with business stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding of project goals, requirements, and deliverables.
  • Promote and support Agile practices within the team and across the organization, while also integrating traditional project management methodologies where necessary.
  • Assist the team in tracking and reporting their progress, navigating through roadblocks, and ensuring project milestones are met.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our Agile practices, tools, and project management processes.
  • Engage in cross-functional coordination to resolve impediments, manage dependencies, and ensure project alignment with business objectives.
  • Support the product owner in managing the backlog and guiding the team while facilitating a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope.
