Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

SAIC is looking for an experienced Scrum Master to work remotely leading a SAFe Agile Scrum team within the United States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources and Conservation Division. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the team’s Product Owner, lead the quarterly Program Increment ceremony, and facilitate SAFe iteration ceremonies every 2 weeks with their scrum team.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Government Product Owner (PO), plan out quarterly Program Increments (PI) as well as 2-to-3-year road mapping of project work
  • Work with Development Project Manager and Business Analyst (BA) to create S.M.A.R.T. Objectives and Features for the PI work
  • Work with scrum team creating Spike and Traditional Stories to complete the POs’ Objectives/Features
  • Facilitate SAFe Agile ceremonies for the scrum team
  • Organize demos for the development team to show work completed in past iteration
  • Update traceability metrics to record projects completed
  • Interface with all areas of the solution train and federal side – including customers, clients, and stakeholders
  • Improve team effectiveness by coaching team members.
  • Act as a Servant Leader, supporting Team leadership to manage the Backlog, shield the team from outside interference, and remove obstacles to achieving commitments.

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (4 years)
  • 2+ years of experience working in scrum/agile delivery
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient working in Microsoft Applications such as Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • 5+ years of experience working in scrum/agile delivery with large scale applications and development environments.
  • SAFe Agile experience including methodology and concepts experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Confluence
  • General knowledge or experience with additional tools / programming languages such as Bitbucket, Git, SonarQube, Java, .Net, Pega, JavaScript, HTML, JSON, XML, Angular JS, REACT is a plus.
    Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
    SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
    Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site
