Forge Forward is searching for a Scrum Master/Team Coach to support a client in Charleston, SC. Requires minimum 1-3 years’ experience in defense life-cycle (acquisition) support or program management support of C4I systems as well as experience with Agile practices and methodologies. Requires a Secret clearance, which requires US citizenship. Candidates not meeting either of these cannot be considered for this role.
Act as Scrum Master/Team Coach for agile teams with interdisciplinary skill sets. Candidate will support 1-2 Agile teams operating under the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) construct and be responsible for hosting Agile Scrum ceremonies. Will leverage the Atlassian tool suite to track and manage work, remove obstacles to the team’s successful performance, and provide overall guidance and recommendations on SAFe best practices.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in defense life-cycle (acquisition) support or program management support of C4I systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.
  • Scrum Master Certification or ability to earn certification within 3 months, required. Certified Agile Practitioner and SAFe Certifications, desired.
  • Must be US Citizen and have SECRET clearance at minimum.

  • Familiarity with Navy organizational structure and processes.
  • Experience with Agile engineering practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerApps.
  • Familiarity with application development.
  • Experience communicating with all levels of an organization.
  • Self-motivated and capable of performing tasks with limited oversight, and an enthusiastic performer able to work in a fast-paced, highly visible setting.

Responsibilities
  • Act as Scrum Master for geographically dispersed teams.
  • Host Stand-up Meetings, Sprint Planning Meetings, Retrospectives and Reviews.
  • Ability to coach team members on agile best practices and uphold Scrum practices and principles.
  • Assist Product Owner in refining and grooming the tasks, based on current status of the work and development needs.
  • Facilitate team discussions, as needed.
  • Record, track and report action items.
  • Coordinate and provide information to related subprocesses, such as: demand forecasting, Fee-for-Service (e.g. chargeback), configuration management, management reporting, etc.
  • Support business process development/improvement by contributing standard operating procedures (SOPs), forms and templates, etc., as needed.
  • Candidate will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills and be comfortable speaking to small groups in-person and via virtual meetings.
  • Experience working with Atlassian Tools (JIRA/Confluence/Bitbucket/BigPicture).
