EDUCATION

  • A PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field is required.
  • A background in legal or regulatory domains is highly desirable.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Preferably at least 3 years of research or industry experience in relevant areas.
  • Proven expertise in AI and knowledge representation and reasoning (KRR), demonstrated by a strong publication record.
  • Experience in formal and computational argumentation is a significant asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply AI methods to domains such as law and finance.
  • Experience in developing hybrid AI systems that integrate symbolic and sub-symbolic approaches.
  • Track record of conducting application-driven AI research.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in interdisciplinary and multi-partner research environments

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Fluency in English and French, both oral and written. Other relevant languages are considered to be an asset.
