EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

  • PhD degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Sciences, or a related field of Engineering Sciences

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Minimum 8 years of experience
  • Expertise in the field of nano-analytics for semiconductors and microelectronics
  • RDI work experience in the semiconductor and microelectronics sector
  • Strong network in the semiconductor and microelectronics sector
  • Sound experience in valorising scientific and technological results
  • Experience in securing funding for RDI projects
  • Highly motivated and strong teamworking spirit
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Fluency in English (both written and oral). Knowledge of French and/or Luxembourgish and/or German is considered as an asset

Responsibilities
  • Defining the group’s strategy in the field of instrument and methodology development for semiconductors and microelectronics
  • Implementing this strategy and leading the unit’s activities in the semiconductor and microelectronics sector
  • Liaising with relevant industry partners (semiconductor and microelectronics sector, instrument manufacturers)
  • Defining, elaborating and testing novel scientific and technological concepts and designs for charged particle beam technologies relevant in the semiconductor and microelectronics sector
  • Defining and leading new projects in this field, including writing and submitting proposals for competitive funding and collaborating with industrial partners
  • Actively collaborating with other researchers to promote interdisciplinary activities internally and externally
  • Mentoring post-doc researchers and PhD students participating in these projects
  • Disseminating, valorising and transferring RDI results (patents, licenses, prototypes, publications, technical reports, participation in conferences, etc.)
  • Reporting to the Group Leade
