Description

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE?

LIST is seeking a highly qualified and motivated R&T Engineer to join its Environmental and Industrial Biotechnologies (BIOTECH) Unit for a period of 12 months.
You will be involved in two ambitious and fast-paced research projects currently underway in close collaboration with international research institutes and Luxembourgish ministries. These projects are technically demanding, strategically important, and operate under strict timeframes with clearly defined milestones.
Given the complexity of the topics and the limited duration of the contract (12 months), we are looking for a candidate who can contribute immediately and independently. As such, only applicants with proven expertise in the cultivation and characterisation of aerobic and especially anaerobic fungi will be considered.
Additional experience in synthetic biology and/or genome editing will be regarded as a strong asset.
Due to the intensity and timeline of the work, please note that training opportunities will be minimal. This position is best suited for a candidate who is already highly skilled in the relevant techniques and ready to take on a challenge in a collaborative, impact-driven research environment.
If you are passionate about applied fungal biotechnology and ready to make a difference in high-level, interdisciplinary projects, we encourage you to apply.

EDUCATION

  • Master/Engineer degree in biotechnology, microbiology or similar

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • A minimum of 6 to 12 months of prior experience working with anaerobic fungi is essential, due to the limited duration of the contract and the challenging nature of the assigned research projects
  • Hard skills: molecular biology and microbiology laboratory expertise with focus on anaerobic fungi
  • Soft skills: team worker, creative and problem-solving

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Fluency in English, both oral and written.
