This is a fixed term contract up to 31 March 2026.
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced practitioner to support children and young people through the delivery of specialist programmes. These sessions will be delivered either in peer groups or as part of family units, with the aim of providing both practical and emotional support to those affected by domestic abuse or other forms of trauma.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and young people from diverse backgrounds, many of whom may have complex needs. They will have experience with the delivery of groups such as Healing Together, Drawing and Talking and Helping Hands. They will be confident in engaging with children, young people, and their parents or caregivers in a group setting, using age-appropriate programmes and toolkits to facilitate meaningful support.
This role requires someone who can manage conflicting priorities effectively, while building and maintaining positive relationships with a wide range of partner stakeholders. They will be a team player who is committed to supporting colleagues and families to achieve positive outcomes.
Sessions may take place within schools or in community settings, both during and after school hours. As such, flexibility and a strong understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, and professional boundaries are essential.
Previous knowledge or experience of working with individuals affected by domestic abuse is highly desirable. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people.
