Role Description We are looking for a highly skilled SDE 2 – Android to build and scale our LOTR (Last-mile Operations, Tracking & Routing) mobile application, which powers real-time delivery execution for drivers, dispatchers, and operations managers. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving real-world logistics problems at scale, working on high-performance, real-time mobile systems. You will be responsible for building production-grade Android features that directly impact millions of daily deliveries, ensuring performance, reliability, and a seamless user experience in fast-moving field environments. Responsibilities Own end-to-end development of Android features for the LOTR app, from design to release and monitoring Build real-time execution flows such as: Trip management Order lifecycle Live tracking Proof of delivery (POD) Offline-first workflows Integrate location, maps, navigation, and telematics into user flows Design and implement robust offline sync and conflict resolution Ensure high performance on low-end devices used in the field Work closely with: Backend teams (APIs, event pipelines) Product managers QA and SDETs UX designers Lead feature implementation and mentor junior Android developers Own production monitoring, crash analysis, and performance optimization Enforce secure data handling, authentication, and device-level protections Ideal Candidate Profile Product-minded Android engineer Strong execution + system design balance Comfortable owning mission-critical mobile systems Passionate about solving physical-world problems with software 3–5+ years of strong Android development experience Deep expertise in Kotlin, Android SDK, and app lifecycle Strong understanding of: Offline-first design Background services Location updates & battery optimization Push notifications Experience with large-scale production apps Understanding of API design, auth flows, and event-driven systems Strong debugging, profiling, and performance optimization skills Experience working in agile, fast-paced product teams Why Join Locus?
