Job Description About the Role We’re looking for a Junior Android Engineer (SDE I) to build high-quality Android applications and contribute to our web interfaces using Angular and JavaScript as needed. You’ll work closely with senior engineers, product managers, and designers to ship features, improve performance, and maintain high engineering standards across mobile and web. What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities) Android Development Implement features in Kotlin/Java using Android Jetpack components (ViewModel, LiveData/Flow, Room, Navigation). Build responsive UIs with XML/Compose and follow Material Design guidelines. Integrate REST/GraphQL APIs, handle offline caching, and manage app data. Write unit and instrumentation tests (JUnit, Mockito, Espresso); contribute to CI pipelines. Debug, profile, and optimize app performance (memory, battery, cold start, ANRs). Web (Angular & JS) Support Implement small to medium features, bug fixes, and UI tweaks in Angular (vX) and TypeScript/JavaScript. Collaborate on reusable UI components, services, and RxJS-based state/data flows. Collaboration & Quality Participate in code reviews, grooming, and sprint ceremonies. Follow coding standards, documentation, and secure coding practices. Work cross‑functionally to clarify requirements and deliver increments on time. Tech Stack You’ll Touch Android: Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack (ViewModel, LiveData/Flow, Room, Navigation), Retrofit/OkHttp, Hilt/Dagger, Compose/XML, Coroutines. Web: Angular, TypeScript/JavaScript, RxJS, HTML/CSS/SCSS. DevOps & Tools: Git, Gradle, Node/Yarn, REST/GraphQL, Postman, Firebase (Crashlytics/Analytics), CI/CD. Qualifications Must‑Have Qualifications 1-3 years of professional experience (or equivalent project/internship experience) in Android. Strong in Kotlin (preferred) or Java, Android SDK, and Android app architecture (MVVM/MVI). Familiarity with Android Jetpack, Coroutines/Flow, RESTful APIs, JSON, and HTTP clients (Retrofit/OkHttp). Basic experience with Angular (components, modules, services, routing) and TypeScript/JavaScript. Version control with Git, comfort with branching strategies and PR reviews. Good grasp of data structures, algorithms, and problem‑solving. Clear written and verbal communication; willingness to learn and seek feedback. Nice‑to‑Have (Good to bring, not mandatory) Jetpack Compose for Android UI. Room/SQL, offline‑first patterns, and app modularization. CI/CD exposure (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Bitrise, or CircleCI). App analytics, crash reporting, and feature flags (Firebase, Sentry, AppCenter, LaunchDarkly). Basic knowledge of RxJS in Angular, NgRx or other state management. Unit/UI testing culture on both Android and Angular stacks. Experience with Play Store release process, app signing, and release notes. Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field. OR equivalent practical experience through internships, personal projects, or open‑source contributions.
