About the Role As our SDET Engineer, you’ll lead the end-to-end testing strategy for your product area, working closely with product and backend engineering to ensure every release is reliable, fast, and user-centric. Your focus will be on building strong automation foundations—designing scalable automated test suites, improving test efficiency, and streamlining QA processes. Manual testing will still play a role, especially to validate critical user touchpoints. This position requires a proactive mindset and the ability to work in an environment that moves quickly and values ownership. You’ll help shape quality standards, contribute to technical decisions, and ensure our systems remain stable as we grow. If you’re passionate about building high-quality products through automation and thoughtful engineering, this role will give you the space to make a real impact. \n What You Will Do Work closely with the Product team (i.e., PMs, Designers, Developers, and SDET/QA) right from the inception of features Participate in product & tech discussions, and refine the acceptance criteria and testing estimation Understand business and product requirements as related to payments and the existing service architecture Write concise, comprehensive, detailed test plans based on business and product feature requirements Improve the test automation experience by enhancing tools/scripts, test coverage, and/or code structure, and automate repeated manual tasks to improve self/stream's productivity Take responsibility for the quality of features and the delivery of the entire feature Debug and analyze the bugs in the application/service, aiding developers in arriving at the root cause What You Will Need At least a minimum of 2 years of experience in professional testing in Backend Proficient in one or more scripting languages Java/Python Familiar with open-source automation libraries (i.e RestAssured) Familiar with continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD) tooling (GitLab, Jenkins) Experience with design and developing test automation framework Experience in performance testing (i.e JMeter, K6, Gatling) Have analytical, debugging skills, and problem-solving with attention to detail Proficient at balancing multiple efforts simultaneously and meeting strict deadlines \n About the Team You’ll join the GoTo Financial engineering family, working closely with product, backend, data, and platform teams across GTF.
