Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE

The Sea Logistics Operational Care Expert provides operational excellence, efficient and quality service. The role is key in coordinating transport activities within the Operational Care Center (OCC). This includes managing bookings with carriers, handling data entry, and preparing necessary documentation while collaborating with the Customer Care team to meet requirements. Ensuring compliance with sea transport regulations and national protocols, they also build and maintain relationships with key carriers and vendors.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Continuous improvement: Improve workflows and reduce waste with the process + systems team.
  • Invest in own development: Update skills and participate in training programs.
  • Assist in selecting and onboarding suppliers as well support contract management and supplier relationships, including helping in defining and monitoring Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and address performance issues.
  • Ensure cost-efficient supplier selection. Develop risk management and contingency plans.
  • Use KPI dashboards to control and improve quality, as well analyse KPI reports for performance improvement. Ensure informed decision-making across various dimensions.
  • Enter expected costs into the operating system and post to the accounting system.
  • Coordinate with all suppliers and internal stakeholders for shipment, arranging for Kuehne+Nagel services (trucking, customs clearance) where necessary. Provide timely and accurate customer information.
  • Check incoming invoices, create sales invoices, managing Forwarding Sub Ledger (FSL) as per financial guidelines and working instructions.
