The company is headquartered in Oakville, Ontario. In 2008, we opened our first Btrust Supermarket at the Golden Square, a shopping center in Mississauga, Ontario.   • Physically capable of standing for extended periods and handling various seafood products (live and frozen), including frequent lifting of heavy items (40 lbs or more).
  • Able to work for long hours in wet and cold environments (0–4°C) and frozen storage areas (-18°C).
  • No allergies to handling seafood products.
  • Good communication skills; the ability to communicate in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of workplace safety practices.
  • Previous experience in handling seafood products is an asset.
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As a Seafood Associate, you will play a key role in ensuring the freshness, quality, and presentation of all seafood products in the department. You will be responsible for preparing, packaging, and displaying a wide range of seafood items while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety. In this customer-facing role, you will also assist shoppers by offering product recommendations, answering questions, and delivering friendly, efficient service. This position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to providing a clean, organized, and welcoming shopping experience.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage inventory and inspect product quality; properly apply the “First In, First Out” (FIFO) principle to maintain full and attractive product displays.
  • College diploma or above in Retail Management, Business, Food Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Handle and process expired packaged goods and control inventory loss.
  • Prepare various seafood products, including but not limited to: catching, gutting, descaling, cutting, rinsing, packaging, labeling, and placing them in the display case.
  • Greet customers and provide excellent customer service with a friendly attitude and warm smile.
  • Assist and recommend seafood products to customers based on their needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area, clean fish tanks, and properly care for tools and equipment.
  • Ensure storage areas, display cases, and freezers are clean and organized.
  • Be familiar with product locations within the department and understand current promotions and sales activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
