SEASONAL OPEN SPACE MAINTENANCE WORKER HIRING RANGE: $17.50 PER HOUR About the Position: Working in our Open Space Program is really about the general maintenance and restoration of natural spaces along the Riverfront Trail, the Kindred Reserve, spaces in the Ridges, and other trails near the base of the Colorado National Monument. Work will be in trail maintenance and construction, revegetation projects, and invasive plant management. What You’ll Do: Maintain and restore natural spaces along the Riverfront Trail, the Kindred Reserve, spaces in the Ridges, and other trails near the base of the Colorado National Monument. Work on trail maintenance and construction, revegetation projects, and invasive plant management. Operation of mowers, string trimmers, gators, and tool cat with various implements Mixing, handling, and application of pesticide and herbicide chemical products. Maintaining organized and detailed records. Assistance with the greater needs of Parks and Recreation, as needed. This position is a safety-sensitive position, which means you will be subject to random drug screens due to the nature of the work performed. What We’re Looking For: Must be 18+ years or older. Applicants must be able to successfully pass a drug screen, background check, and, if required for the specific position, a physical examination. Ability to maintain a great work ethic while working outside all day. Ambition and a desire to learn. Passion for outdoor recreation. Effective communication and active listening skills. Proclivity for processes and procedures. Experience with yard maintenance tools and equipment is great, but we will train Valid driver's license. Must be able to work early mornings.
