Melzee’s Cookie Co. is a women-owned specialty bakery in San Francisco that crafts decorated sugar cookies. We focus on custom orders and cookie decorating classes throughout the year, in addition to pre-sale orders and market events seasonally.

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking an enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our team for the upcoming holiday season (October/November-February)! As a Bakery Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our preparation for events such as large catering orders, decorating classes, and local markets.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in baking, food preparation, and/or operating kitchen equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations required.
  • Must obtain a California Food Handler Certificate within 30 days of hire.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and dedication to quality.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods.
    Job Type: Contract
    Pay: $20.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 1 – 20 per week

  • Handle food items safely, including proper storage and handling practices.
  • Safely operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and dough sheeter.
  • Assist with packaging and labeling customer orders.
  • Support catering by preparing and delivering items for events and special occasions throughout San Francisco.
  • Participate in seasonal market events and assist with classes held on weekdays and weekends.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including equipment and workspaces.
