Position Summary: Ensure the general health and safety of campers and staff by reviewing first aid and medicine logs. Provide, educate, and oversee first aid and medication services for campers and staff. Assist in supervision of campers in grades K-12. Uphold all policy, procedures, and safety standards for the well-being of staff and girls. Exhibit good role model behavior with campers and other staff. This seasonal part-time position is needed at Camp Alice Chester in East Troy, WI from May 21, 2026, through August 18, 2026. Major Accountabilities: Manage the health care for the camp population by ensuring adherence to medical guidelines, health and cleanliness standards and adequate health conditions for all, based on standards set by the State of Wisconsin and other overarching organizations. Review daily treatment logs, accident reports, and other required reports for participants and staff. Ensure all documentation is in accordance with State Laws and Industry Standards. Provide first aid and care in case of illness or accident to all camp participants and staff in accordance with Doctor Prescribed Standing Orders. Be responsible for the logging and tracking of finances for program area Ensure each person at camp has a health history on file as required by state law. Note and communicate any pertinent medical conditions of participants or staff to the kitchen or other staff as needed for healthy living and a positive living environment. Report serious illnesses and accidents to the appropriate parties as outlined by the health procedures. Submit appropriate reports completed and on time. Monitor and evaluate camp procedures, facilities, and conditions, suggesting reasonable modifications that would create safer conditions at camp. Administer and/or assist in the administration of medications. Provide information and instruction with special health concerns and medications that accompany staff and campers. Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of campers served. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Follow all appropriate medical routines and guidelines including record keeping, disposal of medical waste, managing and safeguarding medications, and utilizing approved standing orders for illness or injury. Comprehend, monitor, and be willing to initiate the crisis management plan and overall safety, including emergency procedures. Participate in and lead specific areas of staff training pertaining to health and safety, CPR, first aid, and use of universal precautions for infection control. Assist in the opening and closing of health centers, including inventorying and safe packing and/or disposing of all supplies when season ends. Monitor system for health screening for arriving campers and staff. Conduct inventory of supplies and place orders when necessary, ensuring timely arrival of supplies. Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Camp Director. Position Requirements: At least 21 years of age. Wisconsin certification as a physician, physician assistant, or registered nurse. Public health, school nursing, or pediatric nursing experience desirable. Ability to make decisions, act wisely, and calmly in emergencies. Good driving record and valid driver’s license for at least one year. Valid driver’s license, compliance with the council’s policy of automobile insurance limits, and a driving record that meets the requirements for coverage of the council’s business auto insurance carrier. Ability to reach remote locations of camp property quickly, lift/assist campers and staff and first aid equipment, if necessary. Ability to originate, update and/or monitor health care, maintain records, and implement health plans. Ability to work outdoors with individuals and groups, children and adults, from a variety of backgrounds. Willingness to subscribe to the philosophy of the Girl Scout program and enroll as a Girl Scout member. Physical demands and work environments regularly require the employee to walk, hike, and work outdoors in wooded areas and on uneven natural paths.
