Description Job Overview The individual will work as a member of the product development and manufacturing teams to program, set up, and operate various machine tools to produce precision parts and fixtures while maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies. Requirements Responsibilities and Duties Operates all common machine shop equipment and hand tools skillfully, including CNC and manual machine tools. Work from engineering prints and/or CAD models to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products. Programs CNC machines and achieves product dimensions and tolerances. Program production machines, set up production machines, and assist production machine operators. Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs. Work with engineers to improve design for manufacturing (DFM). This is a seasonal role will only require an individual for approximately 120 days. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of CNC programming and machining. Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school desired. Experience with composite material tooling, prototype machining, and ferrous and non-ferrous metal machining. Experience working in ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 environments. Close tolerance machining experience is required. CAM: MasterCam. GD&T and print reading knowledge. Familiarity with precision measuring equipment typical to a machine shop environment. Results-oriented, works independently with little or no supervision, and manages multiple projects simultaneously. Problem-Solving. Able to lift 50 pounds occasionally.
