Camp Horizons is hiring for seasonal Dining Services Utility Staff and a Cook to support with seasonal program needs through the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons! Part-Time (5-20 hours) and Full-Time (32-40 hours) schedules available through the seasons. Duties: * Assigned Prepare and serve quality meals to guests according to outlined specifications. * Assist with maintaining the inventory, ordering, and receiving of all food and non-food supplies for dining operation. * Comply with and maintain sanitation standards as put forth by the local Board of Health, ACA (American Camping Association) and Serve Safe as a minimum standard ensuring that safe food handling practices are being strictly observed i.e. Cross contamination of raw and cooked product, proper thawing, cooking, cooling and holding practices, * Ensure that leftovers are being utilized in a sanitary and economical way, employing the use of time/temperature guidelines for cooling, storing, and reheating as directed by the department of health and serve safe. * Monitor all cold storage holding equipment daily to ensure perishables are being maintained at the proper cold storage minimum per health code and serve-safe guidelines. * Maintain a positive work environment with all levels of the organization and guests. * Prepare special meals per request i.e.: family weekend meals, camp outs, canoe trips, lake trips, cook outs, and any other food service need required by our customers. * Maintain kitchen and dining room equipment in safe, clean working order. * Address any repair, replacement or cleaning needs of equipment promptly. * Utilize weekly rotational menu with supervisor approval. * Maintain food quality standards and procedures. Qualifications: * A minimum of 2 years of food and beverage experience preferred. * Ability to work independently and follow directions. * Successful completion of a background check * Valid Virginia State Driver’s License * Valid ServeSafe certification
