Description This position is a seasonal position that will last through March. Job Overview: The Driver is a vital member of the Fremont Operations team within RMG. The Driver is responsible for the transportation of containers within the facility using the Shag trucks. The operations are fast paced and require individuals to effectively communicate when handling heavy equipment. The Driver must maintain a safe yet efficient mindset when operating shag trucks to best assist and support with the successful onward movement of customer cargoes. Key Job Duties: Safely and effectively operate a shag truck with or without a chassis/container Execute work instructions and communicate progress over the radio or on a tablet Develop and understanding of the yard layout and decking strategy Actively search for, identify, and communicate safety or maintenance issues Conduct daily pre-trip inspections on the equipment you intend to drive Apply seals and bulkheads to containers and document the process Requirements Highschool diploma or equivalent preferred Minimum 1 year experience driving a tractor trailer Organizational skills Follows instructions Effective communication verbally and over the phone Ability to occasionally lift over 50 lbs Ability to work in all weather conditions Ability to push and pull up to 80 pounds occasionally Ability to ascend and descend ladders
