POSITION WILL BE BASED IN OAKWOOD, ON

Sunderland Co-operative has an opportunity in our Agronomy Operations Division. We are looking for a Seasonal DZ Truck Driver. This opportunity has full-time potential and offers mobility within Sunderland Co-op.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must hold a valid ‘DZ’ level driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Must have good knowledge of roadways and traffic patterns and maintain awareness of road restrictions with the ability to source alternative routes
  • Ability to work well under pressure, employing effective decision-making (judgment) under sometimes stressful and unpredictable circumstances (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills to be able to communicate effectively with customers and dispatchers
  • Moderate physical effort is required to manually load and unload material, secure load, place crossers and step on and off forklift
  • Ability to lift 50lbs

Preferred Qualifications: (desired)

  • Experience operating heavy equipment
  • Familiarity with agricultural product transport an asset
  • Basic understanding of agricultural products and chemicals
  • Forklift certification
  • Farming background
