Description:

Position Overview: The Vancouver Rowing Club, a prestigious venue known for its vibrant atmosphere and exceptional service, is seeking a skilled Event Supervisor. This role is pivotal in supervising all aspects of service during private events, ensuring a seamless experience for our clients and their guests.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in event supervision, preferably in a hospitality or club setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage both staff and guest relations effectively.
  • Familiarity with Jonas Club Management POS software and adept at financial transactions.
  • Certifications such as Serving It Right and FoodSafe.
  • Knowledge of mixed drink preparation, wine service, and draft beer system maintenance.
  • Physical ability to move furniture and lift weights up to 20kg.
  • Flexibility to work various roles and hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise service operations for private events, acting as the liaison with clients and the club’s management team.
  • Assist in all food and beverage areas, stepping into various service roles as needed, including bartending and direct guest service.
  • Oversee the setup of event spaces according to precise floorplans and client consultations, adjusting room layouts, and managing the cleanliness and readiness of all areas.
  • Ensure adherence to club policies and government regulations, particularly in service and alcohol consumption.
  • Monitor event timelines, coordinate with catering staff, and handle any last-minute client requests to ensure satisfaction.
  • Manage and execute end-of-shift and closing procedures, including cash handling and securing the building.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly Food & Beverage meetings, providing insights and feedback to enhance event execution.
