FARM EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

Cavendish Farms is looking for Seasonal Farm Equipment Operator for our Potato Farm located in Chapman Settlement, NS.
It is a SEASONAL position from mid September for approximately 3-4 weeks
Work Schedule: 7 days a week, 10–14 hours per day
Work Location: Chapman Settlement, NS.
Bonus: $2.50 bonus incentive for each hour worked during harvest ( Paid out at the end of the harvest season based on safety and attendance)

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have valid driver’s license; Class 3A considered an asset.
• Experience operating tractors, harvesters, windrowers or other farming heavy equipment
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
• Availability to work extended hours, evenings, and weekends.
• Willingness to work outdoors in mixed weather conditions.
• Mechanical aptitude
• High degree of attention to detail
• Previous experience working on potato farm operations would be an asset.

• Understand and comply with all provincial road rules.
• Safely operate tractors and implements. Including but not limited to: windrowers, harvesters and various tillage implements.
• Ability to effectively communicate with management and co-workers.
• Preform daily equipment maintenance; ensuring all components are functioning properly.
• Apply a high attention to detail in order to ensure the best results.
• Contribute to the team’s goals and provide feedback on how to better operations.
• All other duties as assigned.
