Description The Seasonal Freight Forwarding & Logistics Associate plays a vital role in supporting the freight operations at Makers Air. Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, this position ensures all packages are compliant, documented, and flight ready. The role involves close coordination with other hangars, customer service teams, and aircraft loading crews to maintain efficiency and safety across all freight handling and logistics processes. Seasonal, 3 months Full-time (Weekends & Holidays Required) $200 Sign on Bonus Key Responsibilities: Ensure all incoming packages meet Makers Air’s freight guidelines and are safe for flight. Repackage, relabel, or re-box freight as necessary for compliance and secure handling. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency. Accurately weigh and document all freight. Prepare invoices and airway bills for all outgoing shipments. Collaborate with Customer Service, Ramp, and Operations teams to ensure seamless freight handling. Step in to assist other departments as needed during absences, high-volume periods, or end-of-day tasks. Ensure pricing and weight data are entered correctly for internal records and customer billing. Pull and prepare paid customer orders for shipment twice daily. Transport freight to designated hangars (e.g., Hangar 19) for outbound flights. Communicate with customer service and dispatch teams to ensure order accuracy. Weigh freight to ensure weight restrictions are followed. Organize freight by flight or storage status (paid/unpaid). Open and close the freight hangar each day, ensuring all security and safety protocols are followed. Oversee package readiness for customer pickup/drop-off during operating hours Requirements Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, warehouse, or aviation preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and records. Ability to analyze data and recognize discrepancies and anomalies. Must be able to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs regularly. Ability to communicate effectively across departments. Familiarity with shipping software and invoicing systems is a plus Proficiency in English and MS Office, especially Excel, required. Excellent customer service skills. High accuracy and attention to detail.
