Our spectacular Eldorado Resort is situated right on the shores of Okanagan Lake. Eldorado Resort consists of Hotel Eldorado, Manteo, and Eldorado Marina, with world-class amenities including multiple outlets, gyms, indoor and outdoor pools, boardwalk, tennis courts, and a private beach.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The role of the Steward is to execute cleaning duties and general support to the various tasks of the kitchen.

Responsibilities

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

You will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standard:

  • Excellent knowledge of the dishwashing machine including all chemicals needed to properly run the machine, putting it together in the morning and pulling it apart in the evening
  • Adheres to Eldorado Resort standards for sanitation and cleaning dishes, equipment, loading dock, tools, garbage removal, recycling products, cardboard, and properly storing utensils
  • Clean and sanitize all china, glassware, silverware, flatware, pots, and pans
  • Sweeping and washing floors in accordance with Eldorado Resort standards
  • Has basic knowledge of Safety Data Sheets used in the kitchen
  • Always adhere to all health and safety practices
  • Has a basic knowledge of the setup of the food preparation area
  • Assist the culinary team during any special request or priorities as requested by the Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef (this may include the preparation of food items)
  • Work effectively as part of the team to produce high-quality food, assisting with basic food prep as business levels allow
  • Ensure restaurants and banquet teams have the requisite amounts to properly service the customers in an orderly manner
  • Communicate with co-workers and the banquet team regarding event dishware
  • Maintain the organization of the dish area, help reduce breakage, and leave one dish (plate, bowl, etc.) behind so Servers know where to place that specific dish
  • Report all required maintenance, damage, or issues to the Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef

You will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standard:

  • Evening availability is required
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Must be able to stand for and work on your feet for a full day
  • Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Must be available to work evening shifts, holidays, and weekends (start times will vary based on business volumes and operational demands)
  • FOODSAFE Certification preferred
  • WHMIS Training preferre
