Description SUMMARY Cracker Country is a rural Florida living history museum located on the Florida State Fairgrounds. The museum welcomes guests annually during the Florida State Fair and operates year-round educational field trips and public events. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: General Store Cashiers are responsible for completing sales of merchandise. Cashiers will operate a computerized screen for transactions. Cashiers assist with stocking, customer service and light cleaning of the work area. Must be available to work all dates during the annual Florida State Fair – February 5-16, 2026, 9/10am – 6pm, and to attend two training sessions prior to the start of the fair. Good attendance is expected. The Florida State Fair Authority is a drug free workplace and an equal employment opportunity employer. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent/GED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in cashiering, cash handling, and/or cash and credit card transactions. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in customer service. Experience working in a specialty gift shop or museum store environment is a plus. Must have exceptional customer service and strong interpersonal skills. Must know how to use a computer and be familiar with modern cash register technology. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with arms and hands, talk, hear and occasionally lift or move objects 10-20 pounds.
