Description SEASONAL GOLF LABOR CITY OF COFFEYVILLE DEFINITION To participate as a member of the Golf Course maintenance team in the performance of a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor tasks associated with the upkeep and maintenance of municipal golf course grounds and facilities. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED Receives direction from the Golf Course Superintendent and/or Assistant Superintendent. Exercises no supervision. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Perform grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, and weed eating for extended periods of time. 2. Operate a variety of maintenance equipment and tools in a safe and effective manner. 3. Assist with irrigation system maintenance including digging and troubleshooting irrigation issues. 4. Drag irrigation hoses and water greens as directed. 5. Rake and maintain sand traps to ensure proper course conditions. 6. Maintain course cleanliness by picking up trash, sticks, rocks, and debris. 7. Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, climbing, and repeated mounting and dismounting of equipment. 8. Lift and carry materials including bags weighing up to 50 pounds. 9. Assist in general upkeep and presentation of the golf course. 10. Assist with mechanical maintenance under the supervision of the Golf Course Mechanic. 11. Communicate effectively with supervisors and fellow employees. 12. Report to work promptly at designated start times, including early morning hours and tournament days. QUALIFICATIONS Ability to: Follow instructions and direction from supervisory staff. Communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers and supervisors. Work effectively in a team environment and independently when required. Maintain a strong work ethic and dependable attendance. Perform work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including prolonged exposure to heat and sun. Perform physically demanding labor for extended periods of time. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, including exposure to heat, sun, dust, and noise. Physical requirements include standing, walking, lifting, bending, climbing, and operating equipment for extended periods of time.
