Position Title: Seasonal Grower and Field Logistics
Classification: Hourly Non-Exempt ($20-$25)
Hours Per Week: 40hrs/week and overtime as needed (September – End of October)

JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Seasonal Grower & Field Logistics Coordinator to serve as the key link between our walnut hulling facility and our growers during harvest season. This role ensures smooth scheduling, accurate communication, and efficient movement of product from orchards to the plant.

Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the primary contact for growers regarding harvest schedules, delivery times, and load availability.
  • Coordinate with truck drivers, scale house operators, and plant staff to ensure efficient load flow.
  • Trailer Staging Locations
  • Trailer Availability
  • Carrier Scheduling
  • Maintain status of truck and trailers for daily flow of incoming loads, as coordinated with growers.
  • Monitor harvest progress and adjust scheduling based on weather, equipment availability, and processing capacity.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with growers about load status, delays, or special requirements.
  • Track and resolve logistical issues to prevent bottlenecks or downtime.
  • Assist with harvest reporting.
  • Support the huller operations team with other harvest-related tasks as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Clear, professional communication skills in person, by phone, and via email/text.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and conditions.
  • Experience in agriculture, logistics, or dispatching preferred.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, and/or ag-specific software).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Availability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends, during peak harvest.
