The Children’s Museum has an opening for a Seasonal Guest Services Retail Associate to ensure a positive guest experience. It is the role of the Guest Services Retail Associate to support the operations of the Museum’s Hot Chocolate stand while creating a presentable, welcoming environment through exemplary guest service. Position Specifications: Seasonal, Part-time; preferred start date 12/06/2024 to 02/16/2026. - One (1) position: 21 hours/week Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday required - One (1) position: 21 hours/week Thursday, Friday, and Saturday required Rate: $20.00/hour (additional $1/hour for Bilingual proficiency in Spanish) Benefits: Paid sick leave begins accruing from date of hire. Responsibilities Greet and welcome adults and children, engage in conversation, and accurately answer guest questions regarding all aspects of the Museum Maintain clean, safe and inviting environments in all Museum spaces Actively address guest feedback and work to improve overall guest experience Follow opening and closing procedures for effective and accurate museum operations Operate and maintain knowledge of Museum’s point of sale system Support retail operations, including stocking, cleaning, merchandising and food safety Strong commitment to the Museum’s mission, vision and values of diversity, equity, access and inclusion Other duties as assigned Requirements Strong commitment to the Museum’s mission, vision and values of diversity, equity, access and inclusion Ability to communicate with guests and co-workers in direct, respectful and confident manner Ability to work effectively and accurately in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent guest service Clean, neat, and professional appearance Ability to maintain a clean work environment High energy and interest in engaging with visitors while moving throughout the Museum Fluent English proficiency: writing, reading and speaking skills. Bilingual Spanish preferred Minimum of 18 years of age High School diploma or equivalent required Must pass Museum pre-employment screening process Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours) in a fast-paced environment. This position also performs duties related to cleaning and organization and will often be required to lift and move supplies and materials (up to 50 lbs.). Other physical requirements may include walking, bending, stooping, crouching or reaching.
