Primary Objective of Position: Displays a professional demeanor to all guests in the hotel’s food and beverage outlets including but not limited to the Restaurant, the Bar, In Room Dining, and Pavillion. Responsibilities and Job Duties: Meet and greet guests as they arrive and depart, offer choice of seating, then escort them to their table and present menu. Maintain proper set up of the dining room and cleanliness and standard presentation of all menus. Promptly answer the telephone and input messages into the computer. Retrieve messages and communicate the content to the guest. Retrieve mail, small packages and facsimiles for customers as requested. Receive, record, and make any necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions in the restaurant. Cooperate closely with other members of the outlet team including servers and kitchen colleagues. Act as a liaison between the guest and other hotel departments. Responsible for assisting in inspecting linen, china, silverware and condiments. Clear all tables during and after meal periods. Maintain the cleanliness of the Host/Hostess stand. Provide knowledge of the hotel, facilities and local city attractions to respond to guest and client inquiries. Experience Required High School graduate or equivalent preferred. College degree preferred with emphasis on Hospitality and Tourism. 1 - 2 years of previous restaurant experience required. Prior Food & Beverage experience required. Luxury hotel experience preferred. Knowledge of POS/reservation systems preferred.
