  • Physical capacity to manage multiple flights of stairs per day while carrying up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

The Seasonal Housekeepers are responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of nine 3-story residential buildings (unairconditioned) and one single-floor administrative building. The Seasonal Housekeepers clean and sanitize all common areas of the entire residence property.

From April to September the Seasonal Housekeepers have the responsibility to:

  • deep clean all vacated student rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, lounges, and other common spaces and prepare those spaces for internal student transfers and summer hotel guests;
  • document and report maintenance, cleanliness, and damages for follow-up;
  • regular room turnover and cleaning of summer hotel rooms, bathrooms, and kitchen/lounges after an individual guest or group check-out;
  • collect linens from vacated rooms and launder, fold, and redistribute linens to hotelled buildings;
  • deep clean the administrative office building;
  • at the end of the summer hotel season assist with removal and storage of hotel supplies and linens; and,
  • provide courteous customer service to guests, students, coworkers, and campus colleagues.

In December Seasonal Housekeepers assist with the deep cleaning and preparation of student rooms for internal transfers or new student move-in, including the documentation and reporting of maintenance, cleanliness, and damages.

  • Ensure all paperwork is completed and submitted on time.
  • Monitor and maintain stock of cleaning supplies and hotel items, including review and stocking of janitor closets in buildings.
  • Use all cleaning materials and supplies safely, consistent with WHMIS standards.
