Job Summary: The Janitor/Housekeeper is responsible for performing routine cleaning, sanitizing, stocking, and basic maintenance support throughout the Surf Club’s indoor and outdoor areas. This includes high-traffic guest zones such as restrooms, changing rooms, walkways, and common spaces. The position supports PSSC’s commitment to providing a safe, high-quality, and community-focused experience. Key Responsibilities: Cleaning and Sanitizing: Perform routine cleaning tasks in all public areas, including restrooms and changing rooms. Sanitize frequently touched surfaces. Linen and Towel Management: Ensure a constant supply of clean towels and linens. Manage used linens for laundry. Trash Removal: Regularly empty trash and recycling bins, maintaining a clutter-free environment. Restroom Maintenance: Keep restrooms clean, stocked, and odor-free. Stock and Inventory Control: Monitor and report inventory shortages. Maintain an organized supply closet. Reporting Maintenance Issues: Promptly report maintenance or repair needs to the Facilities Manager. Lost and Found: Assist with lost and found items, following established procedures. Guest Interaction: Provide courteous assistance, directions, and information to guests. Working Conditions: Indoor and outdoor environments in various weather conditions. Exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment. Physical activities including standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Work in cold, dry, hot, humid, and noisy environments. Requirements Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or custodial roles is preferred. Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and techniques. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Physical stamina and the ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods. Strong communication and customer service skills.
