Description:

SEASONAL KITCHEN SUPERVISOR

Under the direct supervision of the Sous Chef, Whirlpool Restaurant and within established policies, procedures and guidelines, assists with managing the kitchen operations. To ensure that sound safety and operational practices and procedures are understood, implemented and adhered to. Ensure that the highest level of customer service is being offered to visitors and that operational safety; efficiency and timeliness are maintained to Niagara Parks Commission and management standards.

QUALIFICTATIONS

  • Successfully completed the Cook Apprenticeship program or the equivalent knowledge/experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in profession (following completion of apprenticeship).
  • Knowledge of cooking methods and procedures.
  • Sound knowledge of any applicable legislation/regulations and procedures including sanitation laws and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Knowledge and understanding of inventory methods and procedures as well as quality inspections of goods.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills including tact and diplomacy, customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform the manual tasks associated with the position; knowledge of basic hygiene and sanitation.
  • Ability to provide leadership to others including strong supervisory and organizational skills.
  • Ability to safely operate various large and small mixing and steam powered equipment.
  • Experience in monitoring function sheets and daily forecasts.
  • Required to work variable shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Works in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act, First Aid, WHMIS, AGCO Regulations, Safe Food Handling Regulations, Recycling Programs and established policies and procedures.
  • Provides guests with information regarding NPC Attractions and Events.
  • Promotes a positive image of the Niagara Parks Commission.
  • Provides quality customer service that meets NPC Standards.
