Description THE CITY OF DANVILLE: The City of Danville is located 35 miles southwest of Lexington and is a thriving community with a population of 17,000. The City is a municipal government agency with a highly efficient infrastructure providing a broad range of public services: water and wastewater treatment, police and fire services, 911 emergency dispatch services, parks and recreation, cemeteries, and public works. The City of Danville is also the business hub to a 5 county, 100,000 +region with quality school systems and a highly educated workforce. Position: Seasonal Leaf Pickup Pay Classification: Non-exempt Job Classification: Seasonal Location: 801 South 4th St, Danville, KY 40422 Position Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Public Works Director, the position will assist with annual leaf pickup and cleanup within the city limits of Danville. The position will also assist public works staff with other general labor task as needed. This is a seasonal job assignment lasting approximately 2 months, during which time crew members will work a 40hr workweek M-F 8am-4pm. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to perform manual labor work as assigned. Ability to work outdoors in all types of inclement weather. Strong work ethic Excellent attendance and dependability. Ability to work a flexible work schedule that includes evenings and weekends as job duties demand. Ability to operate small handheld equipment and machinery such as a leaf blower. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75lbs occasionally. Walking, twisting, stooping, and bending on a regular basis. Ability to work in a noisy environment with regular exposure to heavy machinery sounds. Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
