Job Title: Seasonal Maintenance Grounds Keeper Reports To: Facilities Manager Position Type: Seasonal (Full-Time / Part-Time) Location: Mahogany Beach Club, 29 Masters Park SE, Calgary, AB T3M 2C1 Position Overview: Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Grounds Keeper is responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance, and safe operation of the Mahogany Homeowners Association’s facilities, parks, and lake. This position plays a key role in ensuring outdoor recreation and leisure spaces are clean, functional, and welcoming for residents. Duties include both summer and winter maintenance, supporting events, and operating a variety of mechanical and landscaping equipment. Core Competencies: * Strong interpersonal and communication skills * Proven organizational and planning abilities * Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset * Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently * Sound judgment and decision-making skills * Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multitasking environment * Proficient with mechanical equipment operation and troubleshooting * Approachable, positive, and adaptable * Demonstrates discretion and maintains confidentiality * Willingness to learn and grow in the role Key Responsibilities: * Maintain the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of parks, facilities, and lakefront areas * Conduct seasonal tasks such as: * Winter: Ice installation, resurfacing (RTV/ice-resurfacer operation), snow removal, sanding/salting pathways * Summer: Sand raking, landscaping, cleaning outdoor areas * Operate and maintain equipment including motorboats, utility vehicles, and ice maintenance tools * Monitor facility and lake systems (e.g., ice conditions, water quality, HVAC readings) * Conduct regular patrols to identify safety concerns or equipment malfunctions * Perform preventative maintenance and monthly safety checks on emergency equipment * Support the setup, takedown, and monitoring of special events and large-scale programs * Maintain washrooms, change rooms, foyers, and high-traffic public spaces * Respond to resident inquiries with excellent customer service and professionalism * Complete and submit detailed incident and accident reports as needed * Attend departmental meetings and participate in ongoing training Qualifications: * Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar maintenance or groundskeeping role * High school diploma preferred * Demonstrated ability to work safely and follow established protocols * Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing physically demanding tasks * Must be dependable, courteous, and safety-conscious * A valid driver’s license is considered an asset * Must successfully complete a Vulnerable Sector Check Working Conditions: * Requires both indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions * Weekend and evening shifts required based on seasonal needs and events * Frequent lifting, bending, and operation of motorized equipment
