Description Position Summary: Seasonal Maintenance Workers are responsible for assisting with maintenance procedures as assigned by the Property & Outdoor Program Manager, Senior Ranger, or Facilities Associates. The Seasonal Maintenance Worker will properly maintain the property to be safe, welcoming, and attractive for all guests. Key Responsibilities: Maintain assigned site in a neat, presentable, and safe condition at all times by completing tasks assigned by the Property & Outdoor Program Manager, Senior Ranger, or Facilities Associates. Comply with GSHPA property procedures, American Camp Association (ACA) guidelines as well as Federal, State, local laws, and codes. Perform routine repair and maintenance as directed by the Property & Outdoor Program Manager, Senior Ranger, or Facilities Associates. Work closely with the Senior Ranger or Facilities Associate to complete general maintenance projects, such as painting, pressure washing, landscaping, inventory maintenance equipment and unit supplies, sanding, clearing brush, and setting up events. As directed by the Property & Outdoor Program Manager, Senior Ranger, or Facilities Associates, provide support services to the summer camp, including but not limited to: lawn care/maintenance, trash pick-up, water jug refills, parking, luggage handling, moving program equipment, and assisting with emergencies. Work with the Senior Ranger or Facilities Associates and Summer Camp Leadership Staff to coordinate work schedule so that assigned maintenance tasks can be completed without interfering with program activities. Conduct tasks in a safe and professional manner, including maintaining awareness of camp activities and movement of campers and staff when performing maintenance activities and ceasing any machinery or movement when campers are in the area. Provide professional, quality customer service to all customers (i.e. donors, members, volunteers, staff and other community contacts). Demonstrate commitment to the Girl Scout mission by representing GSHPA in a positive and professional manner. Work independently with limited supervision. Perform other duties as assigned in support of council-wide initiatives and/or cross functional teams to further the mission of GSHPA. Requirements Qualifications, Skills & Abilities: Experience in painting, landscaping, and using light maintenance equipment preferred. Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing. Ability to successfully pass required background clearances. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation. Pass and maintain required background clearances. Work with individuals of diverse background and ages. Use sound judgment and critical thinking skill when decision making. Work a flexible schedule, to include nights and weekends, as needed. Ability to handle power tools and operate machinery (e.g. tractors, mowers, weed trimmers, wood splitter, etc.). Must be able to handle heavy lifting (up to 100 pounds), climb ladders, work on roof or elevated surfaces, stand for long periods of time, and traverse rough and/or steep terrain.
Responsibilities
The Seasonal Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the property in a safe and presentable condition by performing routine repairs, landscaping, and event setup. They will also provide support services to the summer camp, including equipment movement and trash removal, while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
