The operator works with the seasonal Pavement Marking or Asphalt Mixing Crews as part of a 2 to 8 person crew who perform traffic painting and asphalt mixing throughout Manitoba, performing physical labour and operating equipment.

Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Depending on position a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and/or Class 3 Driver’s Licence (Please specify what class you have).
- Able to work in extreme environmental conditions (extreme head/cold, dust, etc.).
- Able to work with paints, solvents, or chemicals.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 70lbs, and wear protective equipment.
- Able to travel extensively throughout the province.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Experience operating light and/or heavy duty equipment.
- Effective Interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team.
- Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Safety, Health and Risk Management.
- Effective Verbal communication skills.
- The ability to understand and follow instructions both verbally and in writing.
- Experience operating hand or power tools.
- Ability to maintain and service the equipment.
Duties:
Physical labour, operating light and heavy duty equipment (as trained by the department), using hand and power tools, and operating gas powered equipment. Duties may include but are not limited to assembling and dismantling of appropriate traffic control devices, providing direction in the safe movement of traffic around and through the work site, assisting with setup and take down of equipment required for the job or based on experience and program requirements, operating and maintaining various specialized equipment or tools. Driving 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, 1 ton and 5 ton trucks. Operating a loader. Performing pre and post trip vehicle inspections. Filling out mileage log books. Hauling materials using vehicles and trailers.
