Description Position: Seasonal Prep Cook Location: Palm Springs Surf Club, Palm Springs, CA Season Dates: 03/13/2026 – 09/13/2026 Job Summary: The Palm Springs Surf Club is seeking a dedicated and reliable Seasonal Prep Cook to join our culinary team for the 2026 operational season. This position supports kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. Key Responsibilities · Wash, chop, and prepare ingredients according to chef specifications. · Measure and portion ingredients following standardized recipes. · Prepare sauces, dressings, and batch recipes as directed. · Properly label, date, and rotate all food products (FIFO). · Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized prep station. · Support line cooks during peak periods by restocking and light prep tasks. · Assist with receiving and storing deliveries. · Break down and clean prep areas at the end of each shift. · Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health code standards. Requirements Experience: Previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar role is preferred. Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Certifications: Food Handler's Certification or equivalent is a plus. Skills: Strong knife skills and knowledge of basic cooking techniques. Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks. Ability to lift and carry heavy items, up to 50 pounds. Personal Attributes: Strong work ethic and reliability. Ability to work well in a team environment. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Responsibilities
The Seasonal Prep Cook will support kitchen operations by washing, chopping, and preparing ingredients according to specifications, measuring portions, and preparing batch recipes. Key duties also include maintaining station cleanliness, rotating stock using FIFO, and assisting line cooks during busy periods.
