Overview Join The Wilds as a Seasonal Security Team Member, where you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of guests, team members, property, and wildlife. This role blends guest service, emergency response, and field operations to support a safe and positive experience throughout the property. Responsibilities Join The Wilds as a Seasonal Security Team Member, where you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of guests, team members, property, and wildlife. This role blends guest service, emergency response, and field operations to support a safe and positive experience throughout the property. Guest Assistance & Public Safety Provide assistance to guests with safety concerns, directions, and general information. Direct traffic and assist lost guests as needed. Operate The Wilds’ radio system and assist other departments as needed. Patrol & Property Security Patrol The Wilds’ property, parking lots, and buildings during open and closed hours. Operate vehicles to patrol and respond to incidents across The Wilds’ property, ensuring quick and effective coverage. Secure buildings and property, including locking doors, arming/unarming alarms, and securing gates. Deliver deposits from The Wilds to financial institutions. Emergency Response Respond to medical emergencies and administer CPR and AED care until medical personnel arrive. Identify and report safety hazards, suspicious activity, or operational concerns to management. Maintain safety and compliance by following all emergency response and operational procedures. Documentation & Communication Complete and maintain reports, including daily duty logs, incident reports, first aid records, and other security documentation. Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, supervisors, and external responders. Other Responsibilities Use, maintain, and care for all designated safety equipment. Perform additional duties as assigned to support safety and daily operations. Support The Wilds, Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Safari Golf Club, and Zoombezi Bay by promoting mission aligned behavior and professionalism. Qualifications Experience & Professional Skills High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong emergency‑response skills, including CPR, AED operation, and (if certified) EMT‑level medical response. Strong communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to handle confidential information discreetly. Independent decision making and problem-solving skills. Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills. Ability to balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Physical & Schedule Requirements Ability to work in all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold). Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Ability to stand, walk, or drive for extended periods. Ability to lift and transport basic security or medical equipment as needed. Compliance & Employment Requirements Must be 21 years or older. Must use and maintain all safety equipment designated for the position. Possession of a valid state issued driver’s license with a good driving record. Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check. Subject to Drug Free Workplace Policy, BMV check, and Criminal Background Check. This position is not eligible for overtime pay.
